This tour of the world’s largest Falcon Hospital is a rare opportunity to explore the world of falconry. One of nature’s most awe-inspiring birds of prey, the falcon has always played a prominent role in the history and culture of the Middle East.

We drive to the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital where our first stop is the Falcon Museum. Get acquainted with the history of falconry, as well as the tools and equipment associated with the sport. This tour will give you an insight into falcon registration and their unique falcon passports - an essential document, because falcons must travel with their owners and are prohibited from being kept in storage on a UAE flight.

At our next stop, the Examination Room, we will see falcons undergo routine check-ups and treatments and learn about the most common ailments affecting these birds. We tour the Intensive Care Unit, a state-of-the-art facility that can identify even the rarest avian diseases.

The tour concludes outside the hospital where guests can take pictures of falcons, pose for photos with a falcon perched on their arm and watch falcons fly in a large free-flight aviary.

Female guests on this tour are advised to wear conservative attire covering the shoulders, arms and knees.Falconry is an integral part of desert life for many centuries, the upkeep of falcons reflect the Bedouin love for this ancient sport. One of the great new tourist attractions in Abu Dhabi is the Falcon Hospital. The facility was established in 1999 but has only recently opened its doors to visitors, allowing visitors the view the magnificent falcons up close and interact with the falcons on a personal level!

As final highlight you have the opportunity to experience the famous Arab hospitality with a delicious 5-star lunch in our beautiful traditional majilis (Arabian sitting area).
